Dress Code Guidelines
-
Christian Liberty Academy does not require or encourage uniform dress; we do enforce a basic dress code that encourages students to think and act as Christians. Scripture does encourage us to dress modestly and in a way that reflects our commitment to God's Word.

Boys' shirts must be tucked in if they are not square.
-
Boys must wear collared shirts, thermal underwear and long-sleeved T-shirts are NOT allowed.

-
Boys' pants must be worn at their waist.
-
Boys may not wear earrings.
-
Pants with holes or tears may not be worn.
-
Hair should be kept neat and off the ears and shirt collar. OR hair must NOT be long enough to extend over the ears or shirt collar and must NOT be bushy or conspicuously shaved.
-
-
Girls
During cold weather (under 50 degrees F.), girls may wear slacks for travel to and from school. Girls should wear pullover or button down blouses but not "undershirt style" T-shirts or halter-tops. Young ladies should not seek to wear too little, have their clothes too tight, or their tops too low.

For All Students – New and Revised Guidelines
In order to make it easier for all of us to enforce a dress code, we have come to the conclusion that the following additions/amendments are necessary. It is important to point out that none of the following is based on any particular moral principle, but are advantageous in maintaining an environment of learning and serving the Lord:
No writing or pictures on any shirts or sweatshirts is allowed. This includes brand names. Small logos (i.e. the size of a US quarter) are allowed assuming the logo is not offensive.-
The one exception to the collared shirt rule and the non-imprinted shirt rule is sweatshirts and T-shirts with the CLA logo. These are allowed in our effort to encourage school spirit.
Students are asked to wear conventional style shoes, which would include tennis shoes, dress shoes, and neat sandals.
Students may wear sweaters and sweatshirts (including zip-up and hooded) in cold weather provided the sweaters and sweatshirts also contain no writing. Students should not wear winter coats or jackets in the classroom. Students may not wear “punk” or “grunge” style clothing.
-
-
All Students
-
No exposed skin/underwear at the waist line.
-
No flip/flops. (October - April)
-
Jean Day cards may be redeemed only on Wednesdays.
-
No one may wear hats during the school day.
-
Sweatshirts with no writing or symbols may be worn, but must not be grossly oversized or be used to cover up otherwise unacceptable clothing.
-
-
Blue Jean Fridays
Blue Jean Fridays are still in effect. This is a privilege and will only remain if students wear jeans that are modest and neat. Low cut and tight jeans that expose the midriff or extremely baggy jeans have become a problem and will not be allowed at CLA. Girls' capri pant length must cover the knee. Jeans with holes or tears may not be worn. Students should understand that wearing blue jeans on Fridays is a privilege and not a right. All other dress code guidelines still apply on Fridays.
- Dress Code Fine: Due to frequent dress code violation, there will now be a $5.00 dress code fine and students will be required to change into a designated CLA shirt or skirt and will receive their clothing back at the end of the day.
