INDOCTRINATION:

IndoctriNation - click here to see a short video about the movie.  The Christian Liberty Academy hosted the premiere of this just released a provocative new documentary entitled IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America on November 6th.  It received excellent reviews from all in attendance.  If you were unable to attend, you may purchase a copy for yourself from the school office for $16.

What people are Saying about IndoctriNation:

"Every Christian parent with a child in a government school should see this [movie] and be forced to confront their unwillingness to do what Scripture requires for the children on loan to them by God. A mass exodus from government schools is the only way to preserve the souls and minds of our children."   Cal Thomas (America's most widely syndicated op-ed columnist)

"This is the most important issue facing the Body of Christ, an issue that must be addressed and put to rest forever. IndoctriNation is an extremely important movie. Every church in America should show IndoctriNation. Every Christian should show IndoctriNation to their friends."  Ted Baehr  MovieGuide

Do you have waiting lists?

  • Over the years, God has continually blessed the ministry of Christian Liberty Academy. As our enrollment increases waiting lists do occur. If you have questions about a specific grade level, please contact the school office.

Do you provide transportation?

  • No. First of all, we like to have our parents come in contact with the school on a regular basis. Secondly, the cost of a transportation program is prohibitive because we have students from so many cities. We do, however, provide car pool lists from which you can find the families that live in your area. Car pooling works very well at CLA.

What is the dress code?

  • Christian Liberty Academy does not require or encourage uniform dress; we do enforce a basic dress code that encourages students to think and act as Christians. Scripture does encourage us to dress modestly and in a way that reflects our commitment to God's Word.

How can I get involved?

  • Parents are encouraged to get involved in school programs. Parents are welcomed to volunteer at CLA and in their children's classrooms. This assistance is very valuable to CLA teachers and staff. For parents with children in sports, the Booster Club welcomes your assistance in helping with concessions and preparing seasonal awards banquets. Go to the Volunteer Needs page in this Parents section of the website for more information or simply ask in the School Office.

What is CLA's view on a voucher system for alternative education?

  • This movement is commendable in many ways, but legally there are major potholes in the legislation. A voucher system would put receiving schools under complete government control. We don’t want our school to become a state school. Under this scenario, we would not be able to use Christian texts, and the state would have dictates concerning the hiring of teachers. In our entire school history, we have never taken one penny of state money for any aspect of our education. On the other hand, parents are entitled to a tax break on their 1040 form.

Are CLA teachers certified teachers?

  • Many of our teachers are state certified, but state certification is not a prerequisite to be employed as a teacher at Christian Liberty Academy. We are actively seeking ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) certification for all of our teachers as this is a Christian organization that better reflects our beliefs on education. State certification merely means that teachers have been subjected to humanistic philosophies of education. Please recognize that all of our teachers are college educated, and many with advanced degrees. In addition, all of our high school teachers are degreed in the subject area they teach. Also, we have several instructors on staff who hold Ph.D. degrees.

Is Christian Liberty Academy an accredited school?

  • We are recognized by the state. We are a full IHSA member. We are a member school of the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) and in the process of accreditation through ACSI. By our choice, CLA is not a state accredited school. Since 1968, this has never been a problem for students' acceptance in any college university, or military branch. Today, accreditation means very little. Colleges and universities rely on ACT/SAT scores and personal interviews with prospective students.

Is current available technology used on campus?

  • We do not avoid technology. If it is a useful tool and not a teacher replacement, it is utilized. We offer computer classes at all levels grammar school through high school.

Do you accept students that have been expelled from other schools?

  • All students entering 1st grade and above must take an academic test. In addition, all students entering 7th – 12th grades must meet with the Headmaster, Assistant Headmaster, & Guidance Counselor for a personal interview before acceptance into the academy. Whereas it is possible that the administration might decide it is not in the best interest of an individual or the academy for a student to be accepted, we are not elitist.

How is the theology of the Church of Christian Liberty implemented in the high school program? Will there be a problem if our family does not share some of the same beliefs?

  • The following is our Confession of Faith which will give you the basis of what we believe:  (excerpts from the Apostles, Nicene, & Chalcedon creeds) I believe in God the Father Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; truly God, and truly man, Light of Light, Very God of Very God; like unto us in all things, yet without sin; Who, for us men and our salvation, came down from heaven. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost; born of the Virgin Mary; crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified. And I believe in one holy and apostolic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
  • On these basic tenets of the Christian faith there is no disagreement between mainline denominations. We recognize, however, that there might be differences regarding issues such as baptism, communion, etc. While these differences may be discussed in the classroom setting, our students are not asked to sign a Church of Christian Liberty statement of faith. In the event that an issue is discussed in class and is a cause of concern for parents, parents are encouraged to make an appointment to speak with the teacher to be sure there are no misunderstandings. We need to acknowledge that in certain areas of the Christian faith, we do not necessarily “cross our t’s the same way.”
